ANZAC DAY CEREMONY, MONDAY 25TH APRIL

DAWN SERVICE:

Supporters are asked to gather at the Cenotaph at 5.15am for a 5.30am start.

Following the service, supporters are invited to partake in a light “Gunfire Breakfast” at the Bowling Club.

11AM MARCH AND CEREMONY

2017 has thrown a few challenges to the smaller communities around Australia as they (we) prepare to celebrate the lives of our Fallen ANZACS.

A few minor changes will take place concerning the March, particularly the start (muster) area, in future the March will commence adjacent to the WF Inn (pub) about 50m. short of the usual, this leaves River Rd/Webbs Creek ferry traffic/Old Northern Rd. circling the Police Stn. unhindered for two-way traffic.

Fire Tanker barriers will close off Old Northern Rd. (CBD area) at both ends of the March route from 10.55am-11.10am. (times subject to review)The Light Horse, Pipers and Schools in this order will kick off in formation at 11am followed by the main body of Marchers

The schools will continue to muster in the WF School car park.
The pub upper car park is also available as a muster area.
Local RFS are again invited to March in formation, if wearing ‘yellows’ a clean tidy ‘Show of Respect’ appearance is essential. (In the past, ‘Well Done’).
Once the March has been dismissed at the Cenotaph the community is asked to make every effort to utilise the nature strip/footpath/park area keeping the roadway open to traffic in both directions.

If the park becomes soggy owing to rain and/or due to the number of supporters the situation will be revised.

Supporters intending to use the reserve car park please do so before 10.50am as there will be no access until after the dismissal of the Parade (11.10am).
Local Police have made every effort (and more) to make your safety a priority. Two ‘Certified Traffic Controllers’ will also be in attendance to help ease the traffic situ.

FINALLY….Please make every effort to attend remembering this is a celebration of the lives of our ANZACS. ‘Gone but not Forgotten’.

Celebrate responsibly; at the end of the day please avoid meeting the Police on a professional basis.

Following the Ceremony, refreshments may be obtained from the Bowling Club and the nearby Wisemans Ferry Inn.

Grub on the Green – Bistro at the Bowling Club will be open for lunch from 12pm to 2.30pm.

Thank you Wayne Moore.
